Koracle looked around the Vespa Mines, the place where he knew he could get the materials for that weapon he wanted to make. He already had the forge set up and he had gathered the necessary clay needed to make the weapon. All he needed was the ore.
He climbed quietly into the mine shaft, careful not to disturb any of the critters around. He'd be damned if anything stronger than a Scorpion worker were to attack him.
The stagnant stench of rotting corpses filled the cave, it seemed to be coming from former miners. Funny, why is it that I always manage to find a place where I can get a free pickaxe, Koracle thought to himself.
He looked about, trying to remember what Iron Ore looked like, in comparison to the other ores. After some searching, he found it. He swung the pick axe. After hours of work, he managed to get just enough to make a Katana. He had gathered about eighty pounds worth, though he doubted that much, especially since he was only going to make one weapon, but it didn't hurt to have more than you needed, in case he messed up (Which would probably be at least once).
He placed the ore into his backpack and shouldered it. It was quite heavy, and made his movements slow. On his way out, he stumbled upon a group of Scorpion workers. "Why me?" he said, before charging at them. He impaled one with his sword, while he threw a fire ball at another. A stinger nearly struck him, but he swiftly dodged it and sliced the creature in two. He wasn't easily let off.
Another pair came up, and after depositing his burden next to him, he took up a fighting stance. He rushed at them, one caught his staff in it's pincers and tried to sting him with it's poisonous stinger. Luckily he managed to dodge it! Then the other clamped onto his arm and the pain forced him to cry out. He let go of his staff and took a book out of a holder that he had especially created to hold his spell books. He called forth the power of lightning, and with two loud booms, electrical discharges struck his opponents. He held his wounded arm close to him as he drew his sword. The fight wore on, Koracle getting a couple of cuts from the pinchers, while the Scorpions recieved the same from a sword. Finally, he managed to stab one of the scorpion's in the head and as blood squirted out he kicked the dying creature into it's friend's path. Since the creature was momentarily stopped, he fired off another pair of lightning spells that finished it off. He picked up his burden and put it wearily back on his shoulders.
He heard the distant sounds of the queen Scorpion, obviously on it's way to investigate the noises. Koracle madly dashed out of the mines.
(Half of money obtained goes to clan, ores go to me.)
